2012 London Olympics. Day Six

2012 London Olympics. Day Six

Thursday 02nd August 2012

Evening people.

Just how much did I need that? Just how much did I need today? I got a solid 8 hours sleep last night but I still woke to a body that was expelling the wrong sort of fluid from the wrong holes. I took a hand full of pills. I climbed into the shower and I cried like a girl. So this is what’s it's like to famous? The show must go on etc...

Eventually Anna and I went down for some breakfast. I forced food down. I drank as much tea and orange juice as I could. Anna's eyes were bigger than her belly.

I cannot rant and rave about this hotel enough. Just so we are clear because there are two Park Inn's in Cardiff, it's the one in Mary Ann Street. The staff were great. You don't usually get staff that responsive in a large hotel but we did and they were.  It was so cool!!(Anna.). We left our bags with the hotel and went off to explore Cardiff and Cardiff Castle.

The weather, as yesterday couldn't decide what to do. Rain. Sun. Rain. Sun. Cardiff Castle so rocks. If anyone out there reading this wants something to do in Cardiff, go around the castle. What a place. As I mentioned in the previous post. Cardiff really has embraced the 2012 London Olympics. None of the usual cobblers we get from the cottage burners. Every man women and sheep shagger we spoke to was well up for it and we had some great banter with the locals we spoke to. There really was a sense of "US" of "GB"... never thought I'd live to see the day to be honest.

As for Cardiff Castle they had flags along the whole length of the castle, every colour of the rainbow, all carrying the different 2012 logos and Cardiff also had a massive set of Olympic rings outside the city civic centre place.

I've always had a soft spot for West England. I don't understand why they don't like us... (May be that last line is why... hahaha...). Genuinely, I love Wales, always have, great part of the world, but I truly never thought I'd see the day when they embraced something so very obviously London based, in the way that Cardiff and her people have. I do believe I have found a new respect for Cardiff and the people of Cardiff...

Again loads of people commented on the Maiden shirt. It's a great ice breaker. I usually ended up talking with married men whose wives and kids tried to drag us apart... hahaha...

Once back at the train station, we found the Mexicans waiting to board the train (instead of arriving on horseback and robbing the thing... WHAT!?). This is something I've noticed about these Olympians. NO FUCKING EGO! I can feel myself being turned away from football and all the ego tripping drama queens that pollute my sport.

Once on train I feel head first into restless sleep. I woke to find the business man at our table was watching the Olympics on his I Phone. How many gold medals? The atmosphere on the train was electric. Everyone got involved with wanting to know the latest. Maybe GB's Olympics to was about to start.

Home for 8pm. Sainsbury’s. Shower. Food. Pills. Write one post and bed by 01.00 OUCH!

Noggin xx
